Marty Stephen (Steve) Mitchell

MR. STEVE MITCHELL Mr. Steve Mitchell, 39, of Hogansville, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, at Springhill Baptist Church. The Reverend Jody Mitchell, the Reverend Deon Adamson, and the Reverend Tiny Poole will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Born January 6, 1974, in LaGrange, Mr. Mitchell was a lifelong resident of Troup County. He was employed as a carpet installer and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Terri Mitchell of Hogansville; step-daughter, Sandra Kay Welborn of Junction City, Kansas; step-son, Joshua Steven Matheny of LaGrange; his mother, Mae Mitchell of Hogansville; father and step-mother, Daniel and Frances Mitchell of Easley, South Carolina; sister, Debbie Hill of Hogansville; brothers, Rev. Jody Mitchell of Grantville, Shannon Mitchell of Hogansville; and a step-granddaughter, Lilly Welborn. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
