Martin Anthony "Tony" Smith, Sr.

Mr. Martin Anthony "Tony" Smith, Sr., 73, of Newnan, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.

Mr. Smith was born February 11, 1952, in Hogansville, son of the late Luther Franklin Smith and Evelyn Davis Smith. A 1970 graduate of Hogansville High School, he had lived in Newnan most of his life, was retired from EGO of North America, and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Smith of Newnan; son, Martin Smith, Jr. (Misty); daughters, Jessica Elliott (Michael), Kristy Ford (Joseph), Ashley Thompson, Rhonda Robertson (Trey), Cheyenne Smith, Gracie Betsill (Bradley) thirteen grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Davis Smith (Carol) and Tim Smith (Anne); and sister in-law, Elaine Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Franklin "Frankie" Smith, Jr.

The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, at Westside Baptist Church in Newnan, with the Reverend Alton Midgett officiating. The family will greet friends at the church.
