Marthanne Harter Parker

Mrs. Marthanne Harter Parker, 78, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Parker was born August 15, 1938, in New York City, daughter of the late Wickham Case Harter and Claire Gibbs Harter. A former resident of Miami Beach and Bartow, Florida, she retired from the Polk County (FL) Department of Housing and Development. She had lived in Hogansville since 2001, was a past chairman of the Hogansville Historic Preservation Commission, and was member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir. Survivors include her sons, Jimmie Parker of Hogansville, Jonathan Parker of Tampa, FL; sister, Kathanne Webster of Webster, MA; grandchildren, Toccoa Jones and her husband Woody of Cordele, Madison Danielle Parker of Tampa; and great-grandchildren, Quinn Jones, Whitt Jones and Jane Jones. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Jane Parker. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville. The Reverend Harrison Cain will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
