MRS. MARTHA WOODRUFF
Mrs. Martha Hammett Woodruff, 91, of the Corinth Community, died Monday, September 22, 2008, at her home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Frank Powers will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
Mrs. Woodruff was born July 31, 1917, in Corinth, daughter of the late Jim Brockman Hammett and the late Mattie Stallings Hammett. A resident of Corinth most of her life, she was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 44 years of service. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing and shopping at yard sales.
Survivors include her daughters, Jo Ann McKinley and Nancy Howard, both of Corinth; son and daughter in-law, Frank and Betty Maureen Pike of Burbank, IL; brothers and sisters in-law, Perk and Jewell Hammett, Roy and Brenda Hammett, and Donald (Dude) and Betty Ann Hammett, all of Corinth, Bobby and Lenore Hammett of Riverdale, and Allen and Ola Mae Hammett of Hogansville; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy Pike and Gilbert (Pete) Woodruff.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
