MRS. MARTHA A. LOONEY Mrs. Martha A. Looney, 74, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Moon and the Reverend Robert Looney will officiate and interment will be in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Thursday night. Mrs. Looney was born July 4, 1937, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Henry Carroll and Odell Jones Carroll Colvin. A lifelong resident of Troup County, she was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from the lunchroom at Troup High School. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Becky and Larry Cooley, Jane and Wayne Jones, Janice Looney, all of LaGrange; son, Rev. Robert Looney and his wife, Christy, of LaGrange; sister, Betty Smallwood of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Lee Looney; and her son, Rev. Timothy Lee Looney. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
