Martha Sue Garner

Mrs. Martha Sue Garner, 79, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, August 31, 2023, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Garner was born June 9, 1944, in Newell, Alabama, daughter of the late Gene and Mary Cash Bolt. Prior to her retirement, she owned and operated Garner's Cleaning Service for a number of years. She was Pentecostal by faith and her life was centered by her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Hammett of Hogansville; a bonus son, Eric Garner of Carrollton; sisters, Shirley Waldrep, Frances Teal, and Carolyn Allen; brothers, Gerald Bolt and Don Wedgworth; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace W. Garner; son, Danny Joe Shaw; granddaughter, Carly Brannon; four sisters; and three brothers.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Lynn Janney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m., until 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Interment will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
