MRS. MARION J. ALLEN Mrs. Marion Jones Allen, 83, of Angleton, Texas and formerly of Hogansville, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Country Village Care Center in Angleton. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, at the graveside in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, with the Reverend Harrison Cain officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Allen was born April 19, 1927, in Lanett, Alabama, daughter of the late William Henry Jones and the late Adell Hornsby Jones. A member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, she retired as a purchasing agent from Columbus Mills, and was a former member of the Hogansville Pilot Club and the LaGrange Senior Center. She was the wife of the late Douglas O. Allen. Survivors include her sons, Douglas Allen, Jr. and his wife, Sue of Buchanan Dam, TX and Charles Allen and his wife, Terrie, of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Mickie Werner of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Roger Jones of LaGrange and William C. Jones of Slidell, LA; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
