Mario Lopez Perez

Mr. Mario Lopez Perez, 79, of LaGrange, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Perez was born March 5, 1944, in Havanna, Cuba, son of the late Ignacio Perez and Donitilia Lopez Perez. He earned a Master's degree and served as an educator in Cuba before emigrating to the United States in 1980. He had been a U.S. citizen for 35 years and retired from Mikant Pharmaceuticals in Atlanta.

Survivors include his husband, Joseph A. Lashley of LaGrange; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Tatiana Ortiz and Royle Alphonso, both of Miami, Florida.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Father Timothy A. Gadziala will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.
