MRS. MARILYN DODSON Mrs. Marilyn Dodson, 83, of Hogansville, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Conrad DeFriese will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Dodson was born October 25, 1927, in Highland City, Florida, daughter of the late Ernest Irvin Van Netta and the late Gladys Cannon Van Netta. She received a B. S. degree in Physics from Florida State University in 1947 and had lived at Hogansville since 1948. She retired from the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, was a member of New Life Christian Center in LaGrange, and was the wife of the late William Henry Dodson. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Dodson of Hogansville; son, James Dodson of Phoenix, AZ; and grandson, Matthew Knopp of Hogansville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
