Marie Gainey Roberts

Mrs. Marie Gainey Roberts, 73, of Five Points, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Roberts was born September 12, 1944, in Cairo, daughter of the late Abraham Monroe Gainey and Georgie Ellender Strickland Gainey. She attended Georgia Southwestern College, earned a bachelor's degree from LaGrange College, and was employed for a number of years as an automotive warranty administrator. She enjoyed outdoor activities and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law Gena and Scott Pike of Five Points; sister, Janet Murphy of Cairo; granddaughters, Brittney Marie Pike and Ali Breanna Pike; and great-grandchildren, Liam, Gracyn and Preslee. Services were conduced at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Mark McGee officiating. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
