Marie Moore Peterson

Mrs. Marie Moore Peterson, 65, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Peterson was born June 3, 1951, in Coweta County, daughter of the late Paul Moore, Jr. and the late Mary Ellen Boswell Moore Clemons. A resident of Hogansville for 20 years, she retired from Southern Mills in Senoia and was a former employee of Bibb Manufacturing. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was active in the Prayer Circle. Survivors include her husband, John Wesley Peterson, Jr. of Hogansville; her children, Samantha Powell and her husband Lee of Hogansville, Jimmy Wayne Costlow, Jr. and his wife Katie of Newnan, and Chris Neil of Hogansville; brothers, Joseph Moore and his wife Gracie of Hogansville, J.W. Moore and his wife Marty of Rome, Jimmy Moore and his wife Tina of Calhoun; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, at Corinth Baptist Church. The Reverend Milton Hall will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
