It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Marie Hipp, who departed this life on June 22, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on February 28, 1940, in Hogansville, Marie was the heart and soul of our family. As a woman of grace, strength, and unconditional love, she dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself and nurturing those around her with warmth and wisdom.
Marie was more than a mother — she was a guiding light, a confidante, and a source of comfort in both joyful and difficult times. Her laughter filled our home, her kindness touched everyone she met, and her love knew no bounds.
After graduating Hogansville High School, Marie went to Grady's School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. Marie then married her high school sweetheart, Calvin, and the two resided in Newnan. Marie served many of the community through her work at Newnan Hospital and Papp Clinic. After 30 plus years of nursing, Marie retired when she and Calvin moved to Watkinsville, GA and then later to Rabun Gap, GA.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Lori) Hipp and Jon (Mary) Hipp; her daughter, Krissi Hammond (Cris); her sister, Jane Wright (Ronald); her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Cari (Alexander) King, Jacob (Lily) Hipp, Nathaniel Hammond, Ava Hipp, Jonathan Hipp, and Gracie Hipp; one great-grandchild, Bobby, and she will see from the heavens the two others due soon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Calvin Hipp; and her brother, Charles Todd. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled in us and the memories we hold dear.
We send many thanks and much love to the staff at Manor Lake Retirement Community and NEGA Hospice for the special love they showed Mom while she was under their care.
A celebration of her life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with Dr. David Davis officiating. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor her memory.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
