MRS. MARIA TERESA DIAZ Mrs. Maria Teresa Diaz, 78 of Rex, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Piedmont Henry Hospital. Born September 4, 1943 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Diaz was the daughter of the late Jose Eduardo Guzman and Angelina Martin Guzman. She was a logistics manager for the U.S. Army, was a member of The Rock Baptist Church in Rex, and had lived in Georgia since 1988. Mrs. Diaz loved her family and was the magnet that held her family together. Survivors include her daughters, Annette Diaz Barron (Juan) of Rex and Suzzi Rackley (Terry) of Mt Olive, IL; brother, Eddie Guzman (Ginny) of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; daughter in-law, Amanda Diaz of Hogansville; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Diaz was preceded in death by the father of her children, Julio Gonzales Diaz; and her son, Julio Diaz, Jr. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 8, from 4 until 8.
