MARIA CANALES

Maria Canales, 56 of Hogansville, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Canales was born December 22, 1968 in El Salvador. She was the daughter of the late Ventura Ortez and the late Maria Emperatriz Canales. Mrs. Canales worked as a nurse in Puerto Rico before making her home in Georgia 25 years ago. She loved to dance and was always helping others.

Survivors include her children, Ana Velazquez (Francisco), Rosa Bautista (Daniel), and Alex Vazquez; sister, Martha Canales; and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Pastor Nelson Maldonado officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 Saturday evening.
