MRS. MARGIE B. GORDON Mrs. Margie Beall Gordon, 83, of Hogansville, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Ron Daniel and the Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Saturday night. Mrs. Gordon was born November 8, 1927, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Henley H. and Maude Conger Beall. A resident of Hogansville for 73 years, she was a 1944 graduate of Hogansville High School and worked as a lab technician at Stark Mill until the World War Two veterans returned to their jobs. She was a 1965 graduate of Troup Tech, served as secretary at Crocker Elementary School for 4 years, worked as a deputy clerk in the office of Troup County Clerk of Court until 1979, and then served as fiscal analyst for Chattahoochee-Flint RDC until her retirement in 1992. Following retirement, she worked for the Council on Aging as area leader for Troup County. Mrs. Gordon was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville for 55 years, where she had served as financial officer and was active in the WMU. She was an avid Braves fan, and enjoyed traveling, master gardening, and her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Kay and Tony Pellicer of Ft. Myers, FL; sons and daughters in-law, Ken and Gail Gordon of Lone Oak, David and Patty Gordon of LaGrange; sisters and brother in-law, Frances Robinson, Jackie and John White, of Hogansville; sister in-law, Margie Beall of Woodland, AL; grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Stephanie Gordon and David Jongebreur of McDonough, William Gordon of Lone Oak, Christina and Jamie Weygant, Robbie and Ashley Pellicer, all of Ft. Myers, Kelli Hale of Newnan, Cole Gordon of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ava, and Evan Weygant, Lucas and Gracelyn Pellicer, Ella, Annie, and Molly Jongebreau, Hunter Hale; a number of nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Christine Oliver; and her caregiver, Gracie Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Beamous Gordon; her sister, Grace Davis; and her brothers, Lawrence, Buddy, Dorsey and Billy Beall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville or Hospice LaGrange. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
