Mrs. Lynn Foster Cheek, 56, of the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus.
Born March 30, 1965, in Forsyth County, Mrs. Cheek lived in Meriwether County most of her life and was a member of Union Baptist Church in the St. Marks Community. She earned a Bachelor's degree from LaGrange College and was employed as a registered nurse at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell. Lynn loved her family and especially loved being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Joseph Thomas Hicks, III and his wife Amanda Dawn Hicks of Newnan, Patrick James Hicks of Lone Oak, Victoria Louise Hicks of Woodland, Adam Hawkins Cheek and his wife Elizabeth Arrington Cheek of Hogansville; her father, Hansel J. Foster, Sr. of Lone Oak; brother, Hansel J. Foster, Jr., also of Lone Oak; grandchildren, KK, Mae, JoJo, Ricky Roo, Rylan, Belle, and Bennie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Lane Cheek.Sr. and her mother, Mae Wheelus Foster.
A gathering to celebrate Lynn's life will be held at the family home at 8290 Forrest Road in Grantville from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 19.
