Mr. Luby Johnson, 87, of Hogansville, GA passed away, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson was born July 30, 1929, in Harlan County, Kentucky, son of the late Claude and Mary Ward Johnson. A resident of Hogansville most of his life, he was Baptist by faith and retired as a master mechanic from Uniroyal, Inc. after 46 years of service. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was also known to be able to design and build anything. He was a great musician and enjoyed performing for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ethel Johnson; his twin sister, Ruby Haynes, both of Hogansville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Luby Johnson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Charles Chapman will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 Tuesday evening.
