Lois Sims Whitten

MRS. LOIS S. WHITTEN Mrs. Lois Sims Whitten, 91, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 15, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Born April 19, 1917, Mrs. Whitten was the daughter of the late John Preston Sims and the late Leila Woodruff Sims and was a lifelong resident of Hogansville. She retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 45 years of service and participated in the Foster Grandparent Program for a number of years. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Hogansville and was the wife of the late Roy Whitten. Survivors include her sons and daughters in-law, Gordon and Debbie Whitten and Paul and Alice Whitten, all of Hogansville; sisters, Dorothy Fuller of LaGrange and Virginia Marchman of Louise; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
