Mrs. Lois Massey Elliott, 86, of Alvaton, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Carolyn, in Luthersville.
Mrs. Elliott was born March 22, 1938, in Abilene, TX, daughter of the late Leroy and Ruby Pike Massey. A resident of Meriwether County for many years, she was a member of Alvaton Baptist Church and was the wife of the late Reverend Edward M. "Ed" Elliott, Jr. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, and had worked outside the home, but her most important work was serving as a pastor's wife.
Survivors include her daughter in love, Deborah Roberson Elliott of Graniteville, SC; daughters, Rebekah Elliott Armstrong and her husband Michael of Flower Mound, TX, and Carolyn Elliott Martin and her husband Byrom of Luthersville; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Walter Charles Elliott; and her daughter, Linda Sue Elliott Rodriguez.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Byrom Martin and Pastor Michael Elliott will officiate and interment will be in Aragon (GA) Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service.
