MR. LLOYD J. BROOKS Mr. Lloyd J. Brooks, 74, of Luthersville, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at his home. Mr. Brooks was born August 17, 1939, in Claiborne County, Tennessee, son of the late Reverend Ernest and Annie Brooks. He was a member of Goins Chapel Baptist Church and was a Marine veteran who achieved the rank of SSgt. during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Darles Brooks; his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kathy Brooks, of Newnan, Jackie and Sandy Brooks of Zebulon,, Chuck and Bobbie Brooks of Barnesville, Steven and Sharon Brooks of Woodbury, and daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Richard Trusty of Newnan; 15 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren; sisters, Anna Mae Cunningham, Mildred Lunsford and Ada Bolden and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Jamie; and sisters, Jean Beason, Altie Walker and Ocie Lord. Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the funeral.service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell, Tennessee. The Reverend. Kenneth Brummitt will officiate,. Music will be provided by The Gospel Lites, and burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with military honors. Coffey Funeral Home of New Tazewell, Tennessee is in charge of arrangements and Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville handled local arrangements. Visitation: from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16th, at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, Tennessee Services: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16th, in the Chapel of Coffey Funeral Home Interment: Bethel Cemetery in New Tazewell
