MRS. LINDA J. SECHEL

Mrs. Linda J. Sechel, 84 of West Point, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Hospice LaGrange.

Born March 29, 1941 in Chicago, IL, Mrs. Sechel was the daughter of the late Leslie and Pearl Brewick Toomerie. She was a longtime resident of Illinois before making her home in West Point, GA 14 years ago. Mrs. Sechel owned racehorses with her father, enjoyed bingo and card games, and knitting. She loved traveling and most of all her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, James Sechel, Cecile Mahr and her deceased husband, Edward, Kathy Laski and her deceased husband, Kenneth, and Lorrie and Michael Michalowski; her sister and brother in-law, Diane and William Perkins; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sechel was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Sechel; sons, Charles and Ronald Sechel; and her brothers, Merle and Keith Toomerie.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
