Linda Lester Garner

Mrs. Linda L. Garner, 76, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Garner was born March 29, 1949, in Haleyville, AL, daughter of the late Judson D. Lester and Mattie Lee Porter Lester. A resident of the Rocky Mount Community since 2006, she lived in the Atlanta area most of her life and retired as a library aide for the Clayton County School System. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Luthersville

Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton C. Garner and is survived by her daughters, Shelly Garner and Scott Fleming of Luthersville, Tandra Coleman and her husband Walter Coleman of Fayetteville; wife of her late son Steve Garner, Lynne Garner of Canton; companion of her late son, Charles Garner, Tracy Thornton of Luthersville; sisters, Tobie Oliver, Helen Ellis, Sheila Manning; brothers, Dennis Lester, Don Lester, and Pastor Jimmy Lester; five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Jimmy Lester will officiate and interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro at 2:00 p.m.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15.
