Lex Frank Portwood

LEX FRANK PORTWOOD Mr. Lex Frank Portwood, 55, of LaGrange, passed away, Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 1, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Pastor Conrad DeFriese officiating. Mr. Portwood was born Jan. 4, 1955, to Lewis and Sarah Portwood of LaGrange and formerly of Hogansville. He was a Christian by faith and was a devoted son, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent much time hiking and camping. Survivors in addition to his parents, are a daughter and son in-law, Kelli and John Hurn of Collinsville, IL; sons, James Portwood and his fiancee, Rebecca Stanfield, of LaGrange and Allen Portwood and his wife, Amanda, of Charleston, SC; and two granddaughters, Eliza and Aayla Hurn. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lib Portwood. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to New Life Church Outreach, P. O. Box 2627, LaGrange, GA 30241. Claude A.
