Lewis Pitts Culpepper, Jr.

Lewis Pitts Culpepper Jr., lovingly known as "Buddy," passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 86. Buddy was a resident of Oak Ridge, NC.

Born on December 31, 1939, in Georgia, Buddy was proud of his Southern roots and carried that pride with him throughout his life. He built a long and respected career in the insurance industry where he was known for his honesty, dedication, and care for the people he served.

Buddy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Culpepper; his sons, Connor and Patrick Culpepper; and his cherished grandson, Cooper Culpepper. He loved his family deeply and found happiness in the time they spent together.

Buddy was a lifelong sports fan, especially passionate about college football. He was a proud and loyal supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, and Saturdays in the fall were often spent following his team and sharing the excitement of the game with those around him.

Those who knew Buddy will remember his kindness, steady presence and quiet strength. He had a way of making the people around him feel valued and cared for, and his love for his family was always evident in everything he did. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of his friends and family.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9, at the graveside in the Greenville Cemetery, with the Reverend Randall Hodge officiating.
