Lera Gay Boyd

MRS. LERA GAY BOYD Mrs. Lera Gay Boyd, 90, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Boyd was born December 12, 1924, in Heard County, daughter of the late Willis Gilbert Gay and Flossie Littlefield Gay. A resident of LaGrange most of her life, she lived in Sevierville, TN for 14 years before returning to LaGrange in 2014. She retired from Interface Flooring and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Shirley and Marvin Pursley of LaGrange; nephew, Leslie and Tina Newman; cousin, Tralis Newman; special friends, O'Brian and Charlene Seymour, Debra Bray, JoNell Batchelor, Shirley Senn, Bernida Jones, Diane Lane, Larry and Ruby West, Lynn Elliott, Gwen Rogers, Ruth, Christopher, Bill and Millie Roberts, Terry (Bush Hog); and her devoted dog, Heidi. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 31st, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Ricky Pursley and the Reverend Larry West will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night.
