Leah A. Hardy

Mrs. Leah A. Hardy, 72, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at her home.

Born January 4, 1953, in Evansville, IN, Mrs. Hardy was the daughter of the late Wilbur Clayton Alexander and Lois Metz Alexander. She was a graduate of Georgia Tech in civil engineering and was the first female engineer hired by Cobb County. Mrs. Hardy was a resident of the West Georgia and East Alabama area for 22 years and worked for the Army Corp of Engineers parks as an attendant. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, James Hardy, Jr. of LaGrange; children, James Hardy of Morristown, TN, Stacy Hardy of Lexington, KY, Patricio Caces (Althia) and Elena Craig, both of Marietta, and Tommy Hardy (Stephanie) of Morristown, TN; sister, Melba Coffman of Smithville; brother, Mike Alexander (Christa) of Dallas; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters in-law. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by 2 sisters in-law.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
