Larry Gene Smith, Sr.

MR. LARRY G. SMITH, SR. Mr. Larry Gene Smith, Sr., 59, of Newnan, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Newnan. The Reverend David Arrington will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born July 15, 1950, in Newnan, son of the late Robert Hayward Smith and the late Elizabeth Helton Smith Stephens. A lifelong resident of Coweta County, he was Baptist by faith and owned and operated Southern Service Heating and Air. Survivors include his children, Tim Shaw and his wife, Dawn of Palmetto, Larry Gene Smith, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Moreland, Tina McCurry and her husband, Jason, of Luthersville, and Alyssa Smith of Newnan; nine grandchildren, Bailey, Ryan, Chloe, Kris, Kendall, Alex, Jordan, Katie, and Abbi; and two brothers, Bobby H. Smith of Grantville and Eurvin L. Smith of LaGrange. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
