MR. LARRY L. HERNDON Mr. Larry L. Herndon, 66, of Hogansville, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Randall Hodge and Rev. Clinton Hughes will officiate, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Born May 28, 1942, in Meriwether County, Mr. Herndon was the son of the late Leonard and Valena Collier Herndon. He lived in Hogansville most of his life, was a member of Hogansville Masonic Lodge #93, and the Hogansville Church of God. He was a graduate of West Georgia Technical College, receiving diplomas for welding in 1961, GED and Textile Technology in 1966, and Fire Science, Public Safety and Criminal Justice in 2006. He was employed by West Point Stevens from 1959 until 2005, serving as a supervisor for 30 years, and was employed at West Georgia Technical College at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Herndon; daughter and son in-law, Leah and Brad Noble, all of Hogansville; sisters and brothers in-law, Delores Gaddy, Linda and Carl Gallaway, Gracie and Joseph Moore, and Gail and Terry Searels, all of Hogansville; brothers and sisters in-law, William and Wylene Herndon of LaGrange, Richard and Frances Herndon, James and Kim Herndon, all of Hogansville; five grandchildren, Kristie Elder, Stephanie and Jake Bailey, Andrew and Mandy Elder, Brittany Elder, and Braden Noble; and three great-grandchildren, Kristian Garrison, Kaitlyn Bailey, and Caleb Bailey. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Swanson. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 9 Saturday night, April 18th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville
