Mr. Larry D. Coalson, 68, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Coalson was born October 20, 1947, in Coweta County, son of the late James Arthur Coalson and Kathleen Palmer Coalson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retired as a truck driver from Fairburn Redi-Mix, and was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He enjoyed being at home and with his family, he loved to read and to fish, and he especially enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Coalson of Franklin; children, Michael Coalson, of Ellijay, Jimmy Coalson of Newnan, Donnie Emory and his wife Barbara of Turin, Marie Seals and her husband Ralph of Newnan, and Brenda Gosdin of Franklin; sister, Beth Santoyo of Newnan; brother, Wayne Coalson of Newnan; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Emory and granddaughter, Tiffany Seals.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Donald Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4 Saturday afternoon.
