Kenneth Marvin Goodrich

Kenneth M. Goodrich, age 71, of Barnesville, GA and formerly of Alpena, MI, peacefully passed away in his home on Monday, January 11, 2021 surrounded by family. Ken was born on April 5, 1949, in Alpena, MI son to the late Sidney and Vera Goodrich. He retired from his career as a heavy equipment operator and was a trusted member of The Operating Engineers Union, Local 324. He is survived by siblings, Jean and Melvin, as well as his former wife, Janie Goodrich; daughters, Stephanie Goodrich, Diane Goodrich; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Thresia Goodrich; grandchildren, Kendra Olson and Greg Warner, Erienne Goodrich, Zach Goodrich, Tristan Goodrich, Jontel and Daniel Lidman, Antonio and Kym Kildani; great-grandchildren, Aiden Warner, Elena Warner, Liam Warner, Malcom Kildani with another great-grandson arriving in May, 2021. Ken was preceded in death by both parents as well as his siblings Ivan, Ferris, Rita, Jerry, and Margaret Goodrich. Ken was a warm, loving, and compassionate man whose unique quality was bringing love and laughter to those around him. His great sense of humor and generous spirit will forever be remembered and cherished, and will live on in each of us. A few of Ken's passions in life included a love for music, theatrical lighting, horses, and great food. He enjoyed cooking and sharing his dishes with family and friends alike. If you knew him any length of time you were certain to have tried one of his three favorite dishes; venison, biscuits and gravy, or chicken strips. His love of fun and laughter made every family gathering and event extra special. His presence will be forever missed. The family will host a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, at Rock Springs Church in Milner, GA, with Pastor Taylor McNeeley officiating. Open house to celebrate his life will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on the same day at the home of Richard and Thresia Goodrich at 178 Purdue Rd, Barnesville.
