Mrs. Keedie H. "Kitten" Garrett, 91, of Greenville, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at Roosevelt Place in Warm Springs.
Mrs. Garrett was born October 17, 1925, in Houston County, Alabama, daughter of the late Sam and Sabie Thomley Holton. A resident of Greenville since 1943, she was a former employee of the Meriwether County Board of Education and was a member of Greenville Baptist Church. She was a talented artist and was well-known for her work in calligraphy.
Survivors include her son, Sandy Garrett; former daughter in-law, Jenny Garrett; son in-law, Scott Atkins; grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Garrett, Anna Kristen (Sean) Hethcox, Sarah Blair Atkins, Luke Atkins, Caitlyn Rodgers; great-grandchildren, Chase Levi Garrett and Peyton Sean Hethcox; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. "Cotton" Garrett; daughter, Wendy Garrett Atkins; and her eight brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, at Greenville Baptist Church. The Reverend Jonathan Porter and the Reverend Amy Arnold will officiate and interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Greenville Baptist Church from 4 until 5 Sunday afternoon.
