Mrs. Katharine Spradlin Washington, age 68, of Senoia, went to be with Jesus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born January 14, 1958, in Newnan, to the late Henry and Mildred Hendrix Spradlin, she was raised in East Newnan on Field Street. She was a source of love and warmth to everyone in one way or another.
Katharine is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Washington; her parents, Henry and Mildred Spradlin; brothers, Ruben Spradlin, Robert Spradlin, William Spradlin, Dennis Spradlin, Arnold Spradlin;; sister, Marie Phillips; and several other close family members.
Survivors include her brothers, John Spradlin, Gardner Spradlin, Horace Spradlin (Shirley Spradlin), Joseph Spradlin; and her sisters, Patricia Moody (the late Victor Moody) and Barbara Emory (Donnie Emory). She is also survived by her son, Craig Washington (Karen Washington); daughter, Michelle Washington (Ann Washington); grandchildren, Andrew Hammett, Jessica Hammett, Jeremiah Hammett, Rachel Crawford, Mark Crawford, LeeAnn Crawford and eight great-grandchildren, including her special angel, Serenity Hammett. Additional survivors include a number of nieces and nephews, including special niece, Wanda and Tammy Richardson; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews; cousins, other family members and friends, including her best friend, Lynnie Hammond.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastors Jesse Hughes, Jarandon Hughes, and Jim Harmon will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 25.
