Mrs. Karen Godfrey Thrower, 64, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan.
Mrs. Thrower was born December 29, 1956, in Troup County, daughter of the late Rueben and Janie Murphy Godfrey. A resident of Heard County since 1982, she was employed as supervisor of housekeeping for Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, David Thrower of Franklin; her children, Janie and Brandon Varnadoe of LaGrange; Jonie Muffin Thrower of West Palm Beach, Fl.; Jory and Terrell Cheeks of Harvest, Al.; Jeremy Thrower of Roanoke, Al.; Jaycee Thrower of Franklin; and Jerald Thrower of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Alyssa Butler, Christian Neese, Casson Varnadoe, Chase Boggs, Paiton Owens, Preston Boggs, Tessa Cheeks, Ava Cheeks, Jase Thrower; and great-grandchildren, Anniston Butler and Jase Boggs.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, in the Chapel of Claude a. McKibben and Sons Funeral in Hogansville, with the Reverend Charles Greathouse officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
