Junior "Whoop" Mcgruder

Junior "Whoop" McGruder, 82, of Newnan and formerly of Meriwether County, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. Born July 12, 1934 in Durand, Whoop was a lifelong resident of the Alvaton and Gay communities. He was known and loved by the whole community, having worked many years at Crooks Grocery. He is survived by the entire Crook Family who loved him and will miss him. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jimmy Norred will officiate and interment will be in the Crouch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 Saturday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
