Mr. Junior Ray Cobb, 81 of Greenville, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at his home.
Born April 17, 1943, in Randolph County Alabama, Mr. Cobb was the son of the late Albert and Bessie Waldrop Cobb. He attended Rocky Mount Baptist Church and retired from Vulcan Materials in Red Oak as a superintendent. Mr. Cobb loved his very large family and loved farming, gardening and canning, grilling and cooking, camping, fishing, and cruising.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ellen White Cobb; his children, Tammy Cape (Jeff), Sam Cobb (Pam), Penny Mitchell (William), Bessie Frazier (Doug), Anthony Cobb (Daron), and Nodja Williamson (Marcus); brother, Gay Cobb; grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris), Jabo (Melinda), Hope (Charles), Michael (Makia), Telina (KC), Kayla (Brandon), Dustin (Shanan), Noelle (Danny), Tresden, Shannon (Pierre), Alexis, Alyssa (Justin), Alena (Jeric), Sammy, Austin (Hannah), Lacy, Chase, Megan (Nathan), and Aaron; 38 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Misty Cobb; great-great-grandson, Parker Anderson; seven sisters; and five brothers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Wayne Settle and Pastor Donny Shelton will officiate and interment will be in Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
