Mrs. Judith Smith, 80, of Grantville, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at the home of her son in Newnan. Mrs. Smith was born April 8, 1941, in Coweta County, daughter of the late James Theron Jones and Amy Williams Jones. A lifelong resident of Coweta County, she was employed as a floral designer for several area florists prior to her retirement and had also worked as a caterer, a seamstress, and a school bus driver. She was a long-time member of Grantville First Baptist Church, and enjoyed working with flowers, cooking, watching westerns, listening to music, and traveling with her late husband who was the love of her life. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Denise and Johnny Thacker of Newnan, Melinda and Tom Staley of Greenville; sons and daughters in-law, Ricky and Lisa Smith of Grantville, Chris and Brianne Smith of Newnan; sister, Carolyn Madaris of Newnan; brother, Eddie Jones also of Newnan; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Smith; sister, Marlene Cannon; and brother, James Jones. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Barney Howard and the Reverend Paul Dennis will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Condolences may be expressed at www.mckibbenfuneralhome.com Claude A.
