Mrs. Juanita M. Murphy, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born October 2, 1942, in Gwinnett County, Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of the late Lawsha and Lottie Belle Little Mauldin. She attended Truett McConnell College in Cleveland and had lived in Meriwether County since 1963. She was a former branch manager for First American Bank in Luthersville, had been a small business owner, and served as bookkeeper for Murphy Dairy. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and had served two terms as a member of the Meriwether County School Board, but she considered her most important work to be a caring and loving grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Arnold Murphy; daughter and son in-law, Susanne and Richard Law; sons and daughter in-law, Kenneth and Debbie Murphy and Winfred Murphy, all of Rocky Mount; sister, Elaine Hoffman of Dublin; brothers, Howard Mauldin of New Orleans, La., Howell Mauldin of Lincolnton, and J. P. Mauldin of Montgomery, Ala.; and grandsons, Jim Law, Lane Law, James Murphy, and Trevor Murphy.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, at Bethel Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. The Reverend Kenny Heinzel will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night.
