MRS. JOSEPHINE L. THOMPSON
Mrs. Josephine Lambert Thompson, 99, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at her home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Bob Trammell and the Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
Born March 4, 1909, in Luthersville, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Lubie Adolphus Lambert and the late Callie Lovett Lambert. She lived in the Atlanta area most of her life, was a member of the Baptist church, and was retired from Montag Corporation in Atlanta. Wife of the late Ernest R. Thompson, she had made her home with her great-grandson, Chris Donnelly, for the past five years.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudette Viltz of Palmetto, FL; one brother, James Lambert of Macon; three grandchildren, Phil Goggans of Crossville, TN, Kristie Barksdale of Lithonia, and Kathie Tucker of Savannah; ten great-grandchildren, Chris Donnelly, Courtney Sierra, Carrie Donnelly, Mathew Goggans, Amanda Goggans, Jeffery Goggans, Reid Barksdale, Kallie Barksdale, Katie Barksdale, and Ty Barksdale; and seven great-great-grandchildren, Blake Donnelly, Ashton Donnelly, Canaan Donnelly, Kayla Bennett, Delaney Kelum, Morgan Sierra, and Avery Sierra.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
