Josephine Pouncey Culpepper

Mrs. Josephine Pouncey Culpepper, age 100, of Greenville, passed away Thursday. January 23, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Culpepper was born April 16, 1919, in Manchester, daughter of the late Richmond Eli Pouncey and Fannie Creasy Pouncey. She was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County and was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Buddy and Barbara Culpepper of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pitts Culpepper, and her daughter, Pheeny Holt. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, at the graveside in the Greenville Cemetery, with the Reverend Edward Herring officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
