Joseph L. "Joe" Mclendon

Mr. Joseph L. "Joe" McLendon, 90, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Hospice LaGrange. Mr. McLendon was born August 12, 1927, in Atlanta, son of the late Theodore and Martha Bond McLendon. He spent his childhood in Luthersville, was a veteran of service in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, and lived in Clayton County most of his life before returning to this area. He was a member of Lovejoy Baptist Church, retired as a truck driver from Brown Transport, and then worked for Avis Car Rental. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances McLendon, and his step-son, Charles Patterson, both of Hogansville; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, at the graveside in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
