Mr. Joseph Daniel Barrett, Sr., 60, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Barrett was born April 13, 1958, in Hawaii, son of the late Whitley Barrett, Jr. and Sylvia Yates Barrett. A graduate of Hogansville High School, he earned a Bachelors degree in human services and a Masters degree in addictionology, and retired as a shipping and receiving manager. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, politics, and jokes, and always had a story to tell.
Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Quimbayo and Taylor Shelton, both of LaGrange; son and daughter in-law, J.D. and Jesse Barrett of Hogansville; brother, David and Robin Barrett of Hogansville; sisters, Janetha and Woody Caswell of Hogansville, Meadow and Bubba St. Clair of LaGrange; aunt, Charlotte Marshall of Hogansville; and grandchildren, Danielle Shelton, Bridgett Shelton, Owen Quimbayo, Elijah Quimbayo, and Xander Barrett.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, at the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, with the Reverend John Evans officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 Saturday in the church fellowship hall.
