Mr. Johnson E. "Bubba" Walker, 61, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Walker was born October 29, 1955, in Hogansville, son of the late Alvie Lee Walker and Gladys Bowman Walker. A former resident of Douglasville, he was a graduate of Hogansville High School, lived in Hogansville most of his life, and was employed by Mando America Corporation. He was Baptist by faith, was a loving husband, father, and Paw-Paw, and truly had a heart of gold. His joy was camping and fishing at the river with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Walker of Hogansville; his children and their spouses, Kyle and Melissa Walker of Villa Rica, Brent Walker and Trey Walker both of Douglasville, Shane and Mekia Womack of Woodland, AL, Scott and Shannon Shead of Carrollton; fifteen grandchildren; a great-grandson; brother, Scottie Walker of Hogansville; several nieces and nephews, including Cindy Walker Taylor who Bubba and Debbie helped raise; and his former wife, Sherrie Walker of Douglasville who is the mother of Kyle, Brent and Trey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Darlene Calhoun and Susie Walker; and his uncle, Melvin Bowman, who played a key part in his life.
A memorial service and gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, on family property along the Chattahoochee River at 422 Camp Cobb Rd. in Franklin.
