Mr. Johnny M. Washington, 63, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Molena Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Washington was born September 24, 1954, in Newnan, son of the late John Thomas Washington and Mattie Crews Washington. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he retired as supervisor of the marking and pattern department from Bleyle Manufacturing in Newnan after working more than 40 years in the apparel industry. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Coweta County and was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his brother, O.T. Washington of Greenville; nieces, Amy Boggess of Hampton, Amanda Briggs of Stockbridge; uncles, Gayron Crews of Duluth, Robert Crews of Helen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Washington Johnson. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Bryan Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in Mount Zion "Possum Trot" Cemetery in the Primrose Community. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
