MR. JOHNNY W. STONE
Mr. Johnny W. Stone, 89, of Hogansville, died Friday, December 5, 2008, at Hospice LaGrange.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, at the First Baptist Church of Hogansville. The Reverend Clinton Hughes will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Born November 29, 1919, in Meriwether county, Mr. Stone was the son of the late Frank and Mary Lou Freel Stone. He received a Bronze Star for valor while serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater in World War II and lived in Hogansville most of his life. He retired after owning and operating a grocery and convenience store in Hogansville, was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville, and was a member of Hogansville Masonic Lodge and the Hogansville Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Theresa Haralson and her husband, Pete Haralson of LaGrange; son, Johnny Stone, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie Stone of Cumming; a dear friend, Helen Stephens of Hogansville; grandchildren, Keith and Karen Stone and their son, Matthew, Kris and Teresa Stone and their children, Zachary and Sarah, Kelli Stone Williams and her husband, Brian, Scott Haralson and his son, Pete, Tracey and Peter Alford and their children, Peter Thomas, Christian, Curren and Cason, and Clay Haralson; and his loving caregivers, Sue Wheelus, Nancy Pressley, Betty Sue Allen, and Brenda Pece.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
