Mr. Johnny Edward Boyd, 71, of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Boyd was born August 9, 1953, in Carrollton, son of the late Johnny Frank Boyd and Elsie Mae Brand Boyd. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he earned an associate degree from West Georgia Technical College and served many years as an industrial maintenance manager for several area industries and distribution centers. He was very mechanically inclined, enjoyed working on anything, could fix everything, and loved to help others. Mr. Boyd was a member of Spirit-Filled Ministries in Hogansville, where he played guitar.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Boyd of Hogansville; his children, Janet and Tony Gable of Perry, Eddie and Renea Boyd of Newnan, Betty and Thomas Maddox of Carrollton; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Gail Phillips of Douglasville, Sandra Boyd of Franklin; and brother, Tony Boyd of Hogansville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Boyd Brown and Mary Ann Boyd.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Brian Hosmer and Pastor Terry Smay will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.
