John Anderson Wheeler

Mr. John Anderson "Pop" Wheeler, 87, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at his home. Born November 18, 1931 in Anniston, Alabama, Mr. Wheeler was the son of the late Joseph Anderson and Mattie Bell Coley Wheeler. He had lived in Hogansville for four years, worked for Roadway Express, and was a veteran, having served in the Army for four years and the Airforce for eight years. Survivors include his wife, Helen Wheeler; sons and daughters in-law, Ron and Charlene Wheeler, Richard Wheeler, all of Hogansville, and Keith and Yvonne Wheeler of Virginia; sister, Fran Stoler of Norcross; brother, George Wheeler of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Reverend Daniel Cox officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 Saturday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
