John M. "Mike" Thompson

MR. JOHN M. (MIKE) THOMPSON Mr. John M. (Mike) Thompson, 64, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014, at West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Thompson was born June 27, 1950, in Newnan, son of the late Fred and Nina Rogers Thompson. He served in the U. S. Army in Germany, was retired from U. S. Airways, and lived in Hapeville and Thomaston before making his home in Hogansville in 2010. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Thompson of Hogansville; son, Michael Samuel Thompson of Atlanta; sisters, Rheba Furman of Jacksonville, FL, Theresa Atkinson of Newnan, Cheri Thompson of Columbus; brother and sister in-law, Mark and Jennifer Thompson of Riverdale; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Cannon will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Claude A.
