John Clay Thompkinson

Mr. John Clay Thompkinson, 72, of Grantville, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at his home. Mr. Thompkinson was born August 29, 1949, in Wilmington, North Carolina, son of the late Earl Joseph Thompkinson and Irma Witten Thompkinson. A resident of Grantville since 1989, he retired as a truck driver from Sherwin-Williams. He loved trying different foods, enjoyed going to movie theaters to see the latest film releases, and loved working on any Ford vehicle. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Thompkinson of Grantville; daughters, Diane "Dawn" Thompkinson of Newnan, Amber Willingham of Grantville; son, Bryan Keith Thompkinson of Keller, TX; sister, Dianna Davenport of Stanton, VA; and grandchildren, Daniel Rhoads, Jonathan Rhoads, Anastacia Cusumano, Cassidy Cusumano, Joseph Cusumano, Kaite Smith, Wyatt Smith, Lilly Willingham, Bryan Tyler Thompkinson, Brenna Thompkinson, Brody Thompkinson, and Bryson Thompkinson. The family will host a memorial gathering at their home at 1130 Bexley Rd., in Grantville on Saturday, March 26, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be expressed at www.mckibbenfuneralhome.com Claude A.
