John W. "J.W." Spradlin

MR. JOHN W. SPRADLIN Mr. John W. "J.W." Spradlin, 67, of LaGrange, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, at the graveside in the Corinth Cemetery, with Pastor Jackie Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 Sunday afternoon. Mr. Spradlin was born December 3, 1945, in Heard County, son of the late Avery and Niner Adams Spradlin. A veteran of service in the Army during the Vietnam War, he lived in LaGrange most of his life, was a retired carpenter and an avid golfer. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Spradlin of Hogansville; sons and daughters in-law, Joe and Gina Spradlin, Andy and Jennifer Spradlin, all of LaGrange; sisters, Betty Kent and Barbara Sheets, of LaGrange; brother, Jimmy Spradlin; and five grandchildren, Matt, Will, Dorian, Rhyley, and Chandler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynelle Johnson Spradlin; and brother, Charles Mapp. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
