John Alfred Shuler, Sr.

JOHN ALFRED SHULER, SR. Mr. John Alfred Shuler, Sr., 85, of Hogansville, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. A memorial service will conducted at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Coweta County, with the Reverend James Calhoun officiating. His grandchildren, Al Shuler, Chad Shuler, Curt Lacy, Chris Lacy, Rodney Lacy, Candy Lacy, Michael Shuler, and Rebecca Shuler served as honorary pallbearers. A viewing and visitation will be from 6 until 8 Monday night at the funeral home. Born June 21, 1924, in Jasper, Mr. Shuler was the son of the late George and Marguerite Butler Shuler. He was a former resident of Senoia and Haralson and was Baptist by faith. He retired as a heavy equipment operator and then delivered the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in the area for a number of years. Survivors include his son, James Steven Shuler of Hogansville; daughter, Martha Ann Lacy of Carrollton; sister, Lucile Cobb of Largo, FL; brothers, Felton Shuler of Largo, Franklin Shuler of Winter Haven, FL, and Edward Shuler of Tennessee; sisters in-law, Lynelle Shuler of Longwood, FL and Patricia Shuler of Newnan; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Wallace Shuler; and his sons, Johnny Shuler and Mike Shuler. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Monday night, March 8th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9th, at the graveside in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Interment: Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on Gordon Road in Coweta County
